LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Sophomore No. 1 singles player Daniil Lyalko (Reisterstown, Md./Park School of Baltimore) earned his third win of the season Tuesday afternoon but the WildCat men's tennis team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest to Hampden-Sydney College 8-1.

The WildCats fell behind 3-0 after doubles play, though Lyalko and Dan Phung (Hanoi, Vietnam) barely dropped their No. 1 doubles match 8-6. Lyalko battled to win his No. 1 singles play, as he took the first set 6-0. His opponent, Zach King, fought back to win the second set 7-5, but Lyalko earned a 10-5 win in the tiebreaker to earn the win. Unfortunately, Randolph was unable to pick up any other wins.
