Guilford Men's Tennis Drops WildCats 9-0 Saturday Afternoon On Senior Day

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Randolph College celebrated its Senior Day Saturday but was upended by Guilford College 9-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action from the Randolph Tennis Courts.

The WildCats were forced to play with five players due to injury, which hurt their chances from the get go. Sophomores Hart Gillespie (Hurt, Va./Altavista) and Dan Phung (Hanoi, Vietnam) fell at No. 2 doubles, as GC earned all three doubles points. The Quakers would control singles action as well, earning all six individual contests. Senior Samim Yaquby (Kabul, Afghanistan) was honored before the match, and played in his first-ever No. 5 singles match.

Randolph will be back at it Sunday afternoon, traveling to Shenandoah University for a 1 p.m. start in Winchester for the season finale.
