Third Place Finish Keeps Riding Team in First Overall

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Randolph's 28-point effort kept the team in first place overall.

The WildCats were behind 35 from Washington & Lee and host Bridgewater's 34, just ahead of Sweet Briar, James Madison and UVA.

Starting the event was Lauren Egger (Maui, Hawaii/King Kekaulike) in her premiere showing, placing second.

First-year Morgan Hoke (Kingsville, Md./Fallston) took home the title in the novice flat later.

The WildCats earned two solid finishes in novice fences, as Hoke took second, while classmate Marissa Cintolo (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip) finished third.

Intermediate flat was next, with juniors Shannon Stepp (Rappahanock Academy, Va./James Monroe) and junior Reynolds Martin (Ruckersville, Va./Albemarle) participating. Stepp finished in third place, while Martin rode the red ribbon in her first-ever appearance in the class.

Sophomore Meaghan Hynes (York, Maine/York) and first-year Katya Schwab (Avvada, Colo./Lakewood) rode for Randolph in the open division and rode well but the ribbons did not reflect the rides, as Hynes was fourth on the flat and third over fences. while Schwab was sixth in both.

The WildCats now share the top spot with Bridgewater with one more show before the teams break for winter.
