Women's Basketball Looks to Continue Steps Forward
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Randolph returns seven of its eight top scorers as it enters the 2013-14 season.
Starting with a four game homestand, Randolph looks to head into the end of November with something to be thankful for before heading on the road.
The 'Cats open with back-to-back games at the RAD Center on Friday and Saturday. Those two tests will be the only ones before conference play opens on Wednesday against Washington & Lee.
The team will have four home games each in November, January and February, with just one in its comfortable confines in December before a holiday trip to Florida for a mid-year tournament.
With an increase in both overall wins and conference wins in each of the last two seasons, head coach Allison Nichols and her program have taken steps forward that will hopefully lead to a late-season trip to Salem for the ODAC tournament.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how much we've grown as a team," Nichols said. "I've seen a lot of encouraging things in practice and scrimmages so far, and we're all eager to get going with the games that count."
